SCOUTING REPORT FROM STATS INC. |
Matt Morris: Pitching Morris' stuff is as good as any righthander's in the National League. His velocity sits in the mid-90s and he has improved his changeup to the point where it is another reliable out pitch. Always a flyball pitcher, Morris has started using the assets of his great infield defense and getting more groundouts with his sinking fastball. He has trouble when his delivery gets out of whack or when he starts leaving his fastball over the middle of the plate. He also can occasionally fall victim to trying to use too many different pitches instead of going right at the batter to put him away.
